The predicted salary is between 50000 - 50000 £ per year.

This position will require co-ordination, day to day operation and continual improvement of the Engine Workshop on the Sutton site. To control the quality, lead time and personnel repairing, and overhauling engines throughout all stages of processing.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the HSE policy and promote good practice through the team.
  • Deliver defect free products and services, right first time and on time in full.
  • Support the quality department to analyse failure modes and ensure corrective/preventative actions are completed and maintained.
  • Carry out the day-to-day supervision of the Workshop.
  • Ensure shop floor efficiency targets are met and the workshop has the tools required to effectively complete the job.
  • Plan technical resource effectively to ensure that department needs are met throughout the year and ensure that equipment and trained/experienced resource are available when required.
  • Develop quotes and estimates to maximise profitability, whilst maintaining quality.
  • Lead customer meetings on site.
  • Build relationships with customers and drive greater margin through customer intimacy.
  • Analyse WIP and completed jobs to ensure they are adhering to or improving on planned costs.
  • Review weekly overtime spend and ensure it is in line with workload.
  • Control operational overhead spends such as consumables, maintenance and tooling in your area of influence.
  • Provide cover for the Workshop Production Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing a medium sized team of engineers.
  • Hands on experience with a range of engine repair and overhaul.
  • Experience managing individuals and teams.
  • Strong communication and motivation skills.
  • Structured approach to targeting and measurement.
  • Experience of working relationships with manufacturers/partners in a management or similar role.
  • Strong customer relation skills.
  • Hands on leader – experience collaborating closely with their team.
