Role Overview:
We’re looking for a Data Visualisation Expert to join our growing regional teams. You’ll be responsible for transforming complex, varied datasets into clear, compelling visual narratives that drive action and decision‑making. As part of a regional delivery team (with central co‑ordination), you’ll work closely with engineers, analysts, product owners and stakeholders to explore and present data on topics that are currently the highest priority within the rail industry. This is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of high‑value datasets and make a direct impact on how one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure networks is managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and visualisations using modern BI/visualisation tools
- Work with regional teams to understand business needs and turn data into actionable insights
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data quality and accessibility
- Translate complex technical outputs into compelling visuals for technical and non‑technical audiences alike
- Contribute to innovation within our data practice, identifying new ways to bring railway data to life
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in data visualisation and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar)
- Strong grounding in data storytelling and user‑focused design
- Ability to work with varied datasets and extract key insights
- Experience collaborating in multi‑disciplinary teams
- Passion for transport, infrastructure, or solving complex real‑world problems through data
- (Desirable) Knowledge of Python, R, or SQL for data transformation
- (Desirable) Familiarity with GIS or geospatial data visualisation
