Build the learning function behind breakthrough semiconductor technology. At Infinitesima, we're developing advanced metrology systems that enable some of the world's leading semiconductor companies to measure at the nanoscale. Our engineers, physicists and software specialists are solving some of the toughest technical challenges in the industry. Now we're looking for someone equally passionate about developing people.
We’re looking for someone with the drive and experience to create and own a Learning & Development function from the ground up. There are no legacy processes to maintain and no existing framework to inherit. Instead, you'll have the chance to design how people learn, develop and succeed as we continue to scale. If you're someone who enjoys creating structure, building programmes from scratch and helping technical teams perform at their best, we'd love to hear from you.
What we offer
- Salary of £38,000 - £48,000, depending on experience
- Death in service cover
- Opportunity to shape a business-critical function from day one
- Join a growing deep-tech company backed by leading global investors, including Applied Ventures
The Role
Training and onboarding at Infinitesima have evolved organically as the business has grown. We're now ready for someone to take ownership, introduce structure and create a scalable learning environment. As our Learning & Development Manager, you'll define and build our approach to onboarding, technical training and skills development. Working closely with technical experts and business leaders, you'll ensure employees have the knowledge and support needed to succeed. This is a hands‑on role with genuine influence and visibility across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing a structured onboarding programme for all new starters
- Building and maintaining a company‑wide training matrix and learning records
- Identifying skills gaps across engineering, operations and business functions
- Developing engaging learning materials, guides and training content
- Delivering onboarding, technical and process‑based training sessions
- Selecting, implementing and managing a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Monitoring mandatory training compliance and completion rates
- Partnering with managers and subject matter experts to create technical learning pathways
- Coaching managers to become confident trainers and mentors
- Measuring the effectiveness of learning programmes through feedback and performance data
- Managing training budgets and external learning providers
What We’re Looking For
- Technical background within engineering, manufacturing, technology or software environments
- Experience designing and delivering learning, training or onboarding programmes
- Ability to identify development needs and create practical learning solutions
- Experience building processes, frameworks or programmes from scratch
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with technical specialists
- Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
- Learning Management Systems (LMS) implementation or administration
- Semiconductor, scientific, engineering or high‑tech environments
- Learning and organisational development methodologies
- Competency frameworks and skills matrices
- Early careers, graduate or apprenticeship programme development
- Instructional design and adult learning principles
You’ll Love This Role If You...
- Enjoy creating structure where little currently exists
- Like influencing senior stakeholders and technical experts
- Want to leave a lasting mark on a growing company
- Prefer building rather than maintaining
- Get genuine satisfaction from helping others learn and succeed
