As our Applications Manager, you’ll be leading a high-impact team working directly with customers to deploy, optimise and scale advanced AFM-based metrology systems. Sitting at the intersection of applications engineering, product, and global customer delivery, you’ll be influencing how our technology performs in the field — and how it evolves.

A typical day for an Applications Manager could look like this

  • Leading and developing a global team of application engineers
  • Working directly with semiconductor customers to understand use cases and challenges
  • Supporting installation, acceptance testing, and optimisation of complex instrumentation
  • Acting as the escalation point for advanced technical issues
  • Translating customer needs into practical engineering solutions
  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams to improve system performance
  • Supporting pre‑sales demos and technical feasibility discussions
  • Driving continuous improvement in how systems are deployed and used
  • Supporting global customer sites (with occasional international travel)

What we’re looking for in our Applications Manager

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, or field-based technical roles
  • Background working with complex, high-precision instrumentation (e.g. semiconductor, metrology, AFM)
  • Strong experience delivering customer-facing technical solutions
  • Confidence leading, mentoring, or developing a small technical team
  • Ability to translate real-world problems into clear technical solutions
  • Systems-level understanding across mechanical, optical, and electronic systems

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry
  • Exposure to AFM, metrology, or inspection systems
  • Experience supporting global deployments and customers
  • Background in a scaling or high-growth tech environment

Education:

Degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or similar or equivalent hands‑on / industry experience
