About the role
A typical day for a Project Lead could look like this:
- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, keeping everything aligned with business goals, timelines, and resources
- Developing, maintaining, and sharing clear project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
- Acting as the central point of accountability for assigned projects, making sure objectives stay clear and stakeholders feel supported and engaged
- Spotting risks and issues early, taking proactive steps to resolve them, and escalating with clear context when needed
- Coordinating cross‑functional teams and smoothing out resource challenges by collaborating with department heads and functional leads
- Mentoring and supporting junior project managers, while helping shape and strengthen project‑management best practice across the organisation
Who we are looking for
To succeed as a technical Project Lead, we do need you to have the following experience and skills:
- Expertise in project and programme management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Able to build relationships and really understand project briefs and goals through active listening and open questions
- Strong planning, scheduling and budgeting capabilities
- Advanced risk and change management skills
- High proficiency in project management tool; advanced Microsoft Excel skills are advantageous
- Experience managing complex technical projects in engineering, R&D, or manufacturing environments
Nice to have
- Proficiency in project management tools and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Education / Qualifications
- Either a degree in Engineering, Physics or similar, or a clear equivalent path through relevant apprenticeship or accumulated experience
- Senior level project management certifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APM Chartered Project Professional, PMI‑PMP
