Can you work and drive legally in Korea? Ready to make a massive impact with microscopic magic? Are you a Technical Customer Support Engineer with experience of managing high-level technical information to support customers? Do you thrive when building and maintaining relationships with customers and local partners to provide a direct technical link to HQ? We are looking for an energetic problem solver to work from Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do (Korea) to provide a technical and cultural bridge on service issues between the on-site team, customers, and UK HQ.

Our HQ, based in Abingdon, Oxford, UK, is home to a high calibre team of over 100 people and we are growing fast. We are backed by global financial and industry investors including Applied Ventures, the strategic venture arm of the industry-leading equipment company.
What a typical week could look like:
- Spending time at customer sites installing products and keeping everything running smoothly.
- Providing support both remotely and on-site — doing maintenance, checking performance, hunting down faults, repairing issues, and fitting product upgrades.
- Training, mentoring, and coaching distributor service teams so they’re confident and capable.
- Keeping an eye on product performance and up-time across all locations.
- Building solid relationships with customers and distributors, constantly gathering their feedback and priorities.
Most of the week is spent in the Republic of Korea, with occasional travel (under 20%) around Asia and to the UK.
Who we are looking for:
To succeed as a Technical Customer Support Engineer, we do need you to have experience of:
- Experience in an electronic-based, high-value capital equipment sector, such as semiconductor, scientific instrument, medical device, or other high-value instrumentation environments.
- At least 2+ years’ experience working in a Product Support team or Service & Repair role.
- Experience in a customer-interfacing role.
- High standard of written and spoken Korean and English.
- Analytical yet innovative mindset with the ability to work in a pressurised environment.
- Able to travel at short notice and respond to customer enquiries outside of usual working hours.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience with semiconductor equipment, lasers, optics, or precision motion systems including fault finding at a system level.
Education / Qualifications:
Either an Engineering or Physics degree or similar, or a clear equivalent path through relevant apprenticeship or accumulated experience.
