The position of Senior LabVIEW Software Engineer reports to the LabVIEW Software Manager.
Primary Purpose
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior LabVIEW Software Developer with a strong background in software engineering principles, scalable architecture design, and modern development practices. You will help define software strategy, mentor developers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software lifecycle. The ideal candidate approaches LabVIEW as a full‑fledged software engineering platform and is passionate about writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve our large‑scale LabVIEW application using DQMH, LabVIEW OOP, Actor Framework and custom modular architectures.
- Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Drive Agile or hybrid development processes, participating in sprint planning, design meetings, and retrospectives.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards, documentation quality, and architectural consistency.
- Develop software modules, libraries, and reusable components that accelerate development and improve product robustness.
- Lead the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, unit testing (VI Tester or equivalent), and static code analysis tools.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation including state diagrams, dataflow diagrams, API documentation, and software architecture diagrams.

Essential
- Degree educated in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.

- Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD).
- Proven experience with modern software development practices, e.g. GIT, TDD.
- Working knowledge of Real‑time OS, e.g. NI Real‑Time Linux.
- Experience documenting technical requirements.
- Experience with NI‑FPGA.
- Good written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA).
- Experience of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
- Systems Engineering experience.
