An established, multinational engineering organisation is seeking a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer to join its high-performing UK engineering team. The Role
As a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting global customers across the full engineering lifecycle - from design and manufacture through to testing and field support. You’ll act as a technical expert, solving real-world challenges and contributing to high-impact, fast-paced projects. This is a highly collaborative position where you’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams, while also engaging directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering input across gas seal support projects
- Investigate and analyse in-house test failures, identifying design improvements
- Perform and interpret engineering calculations and analyses
- Provide clear technical recommendations to support business and customer decisions
- Deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders and external clients
- Support commercial teams in customer meetings and technical discussions
- Collaborate with development engineering on bespoke or innovative solutions
- Work closely with operations to ensure smooth project delivery
- Use FEA tools and CAD to analyse issues and communicate design modifications
- Respond to technical queries with detailed and professional solutions
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working in a customer-facing environment. You will bring:
- Experience in a mechanical engineering role
- Knowledge of rotating equipment or precision engineering
- Exposure to failure analysis or root cause investigations (highly desirable)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, GA, detailed drawings)
- Awareness of control systems and instrumentation
- Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage your own workload and deliver to deadlines
- Confidence in leading or contributing to technical discussions and meetings
- Experience within the oil & gas sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
