Working Model

We follow a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work, with a requirement to be in the Woking office four days a week. This approach supports the development of a strong and effective team dynamic within Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the lead engineer on feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design, or EPC project.
  • Be technically responsible for a small/medium-sized project or an area of work on larger projects, and supervise the preparation of specific deliverables.
  • Undertake specific tasks/areas of work as defined by the lead/principal engineer or group manager.
  • Liaise with other disciplines to achieve design consistency for the Project.
  • Support the Project Management Team in planning and identifying technical issues that could limit progress and impact project budgets, and interface with the client.
  • Provide necessary input and support to project progress and reporting.
  • Support the discipline group manager with the development of discipline engineers and ensuring technical excellence.
  • Work to the requirements of the Mechanical Design Manual and project requirements.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests, also supporting Engineers as required for vendor issues.
  • Review ITB documents and support proposal evaluations.
  • Ensure compatibility and compliance with client specifications, recommending improvements within project scope.
  • Adhere to Kent's ISO‑accredited QMS and project‑specific procedures, guides, and standards.
  • Perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management, within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills and workload.

Job Information / Qualifications

  • Typically hold a degree in mechanical engineering or a postgraduate mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Working towards chartership is advantageous.
  • Experience working for engineering/client organisations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Exposure to consultancy, FEED/detailed design, and EPC projects.

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication.
  • Activity scheduling and discipline priorities.
  • Good coordination, monitoring, and supervisory skills.
