Qualified Electrical Technician needed to deliver critical onâsite planned maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns across our South East region. You will service, faultâfind and repair high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment. If you have experience in industrial electrical maintenance such as power generation, manufacturing, utilities distribution, or steel, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in the renewable energy sector.
Location: This role will primarily serve sites in the South East Region, covering Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
Key responsibilities:- Complete corrective maintenance work orders in line with good engineering practice so that site electrical defects are fixed the first time where possible.
- Meet and greet electrical contractors on site, induct and fill all necessary safety paperwork and documents so that work can be conducted safely.
- Monitor the work of contractors attending the repair of electrical high voltage and low voltage systems associated with electrical switchgear, transformers, and generator sets.
- Assist the rebuild team to safely isolate and disconnect alternators before engine removal.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical systems to maximise plant availability.
- Review opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Provide daily reports for the work conducted and written monthly updates on programmes, issues and actions.
- Ensure compliance with Infinisâs procedures, SHE policies and relevant legislation.
- Support the South East regional electrical team in delivering the successful completion of electrical maintenance activities on site.
- Support the National Electrical team when required or as directed by the Regional Electrical Engineer or the Electrical Engineering Manager.
- Electrical engineering technical qualification essential (BTEC ONC/HNC, NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of electrical generators desired but not essential.
- Working knowledge of BS7671, 18th edition Electrical Installation Regulations and associated legislative standards.
- Knowledge and experience of fault finding and working from electrical drawings.
- Knowledge and experience of operating high voltage switchgear.
- Flexible approach to work â willing to travel regularly and put in extra hours when needed.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confident using laptop, mobile and technical programmes & applications.
