As the Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will manage a small team of analysts in building dashboards and producing statistics, driving the delivery of operational insights that will inform the Executive Committee, policy and operational leads, other IBCA functions and across the UK government about how we get it right for the infected blood community.

You’ll build a close relationship with and understanding of IBCA business areas, in order to ensure that analysis and reporting is accurate and informative and supports this challenging and critical work – and work closely across IBCA to understand evolving requirements and ensure business intelligence products are delivered in a timely manner and meeting their requirements, playing a critical role in the introduction of new reports and dashboards.

You’ll be a team leader to a small group of analysts, providing technical leadership and line management to your team. You’ll work with the Advanced Analytics & Intelligence leadership team to help guide technical solutions and help improve the transparency and performance of the service.

  • Provide business intelligence insight including responding to ad-hoc data requests and FOI requests
  • Disseminate business intelligence including development and maintenance of data reports, publications and dashboards that are shared across IBCA and external to HM Treasury and Cabinet Office.
  • Technical leadership including developing the team’s analysis and reporting capabilities, in particular through the creation, maintenance, and building of a Tableau BI Platform, as well as the quality assurance of products and code.
  • Line Management of 3 Intelligence Analysts and supporting their professional development.

Person specification

You will have the skills or be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and coach a small technical team in the delivery of Google Looker/Tableau Dashboards for a variety of stakeholders. You will be able to show an ability to assist in creating an environment that embraces a willingness to ‘learn fast’ thus supporting innovation.

You will be a dynamic and self-starting individual who is comfortable spotting opportunities, being a technical leader and developing more junior analysts in progressing their career.

  • Data Analysis, Reporting & Technical Expertise: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesise complex information using tools for analysis, visualisation and reporting. Proficient in Google Sheets, SQL and at least one dash boarding tool (Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker, etc). Experience of leading and delivering MI reporting products and analysis to meet customer needs.
  • Critical thinking mindset: Strong ability to filter and synthesize large amounts of information to produce clear, logical and concise statements of information.
  • Excellent communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively and explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Project Management: Experience in leading, planning and executing projects to achieve goals
  • Leadership experience: Experience of leading and developing a small technical team to deliver quality reporting outcomes at pace.

Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
