Purpose of the job
The Credit Analyst supports the business in optimizing accounts receivable levels, by proactively chasing and recovering payments from domestic and international customers whilst providing credit analysis and administration support necessary for the day‑to‑day functioning of the Credit Department.
Key Accountabilities
- Champions the INEOS 20 Safety Principles.
- Proactive and timely chasing of global debt in order to ensure prompt collection of receivables.
- Liaise with global Customer Service Representatives and Account Managers to address customer queries & concerns in order to find solutions or progress to appropriate channels.
- Maintain up to date global chasing logs and provide daily aged debt reports to Global Credit & Compliance Manager.
- Organize and take lead of weekly US debt conference call ensuring adherence to procedures.
- Provide weekly debt recovery updates to Commercial.
- Enable debt recovery through customer virtual portals as required and manage debt collection through the portals.
- Prepare LCs for review in accordance with the latest UCP regulations & INEOS Nitriles guidelines and maintain LC Schedules.
- Assist with month end reports and provide debt collection statistics when required.
- Propose improvements to the collection process.
- Provide payment remittances for accurate allocation of incoming payments, organize refunds and ensure all payments are allocated promptly.
- Obtain customer financials through internet research, complete data entry as directed on Excel and forward recommendations to the Credit Manager.
- Support prompt order release by prioritizing chasing of invoices according to daily order release report & notification of proforma payment receipts.
- Provide ad‑hoc support required by the Global Credit & Compliance Manager.
- Provide cover in the absence of Global Credit & Compliance Manager with appropriate tasks especially LCs & prompt release of orders on Credit hold in accordance with the current DOA.
- Assist with various Accounting, Reporting and Treasury topics on an ad‑hoc basis.
Required Profile
- University degree - Finance or Business Studies preferable and/or CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) qualification or working towards level 3 or 5 diploma desirable.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong telephone technique in negotiating payments with customers and other stakeholders effectively and persuasively in order to achieve the required result in a professional manner.
- Clear and professional correspondence handling ability.
- Target driven and self‑motivated.
- Ability to maintain good attitude under pressurized circumstances.
- Pro‑active and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to resolve issues efficiently.
- Dependable and flexible to departmental needs / team player.
- Aptitude to identify and respond to stakeholder needs.
- Good organizational skills with flexibility to meet deadlines.
- Competent Excel skills / AI focused on obtaining maximum efficiencies via internet tools available.
