About The Role
Reporting to the LPG Operations Team Lead, the post holder will be an integral part of the Site Operations Team accountable for safely operating the FPS Grangemouth assets in compliance with INEOS FPS standards whilst delivering the area operating plan.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and promote Ineos 20 Principles and 7 Life Saving Rules to colleagues and external vendors.
- Deliver optimum SHE performance within the shift technician team ensuring all operational activity is carried out safely and with minimum impact to the environment and local communities.
- Ensure the field equipment is operated in accordance with operating instructions, maintaining operational vigilance ensuring integrity of running plant is maintained.
- Ensure the field equipment is operated in a manner that keeps the equipment within its operational boundary.
- Fulfil Control of Work responsibilities within the Control of Work system.
- Deliver safe isolation and reinstatement of plant.
- Monitor plant conditions in the field and control room.
- Support the Control of Work team from an operations perspective.
- Report defects or abnormal conditions in equipment and/or processes.
- Eliminate these defects within scope of skill and competence.
- Report and record near misses and incidents.
- Raise works requests in Maximo as operational issues are identified.
- Perform front line maintenance within multi-skilling competencies.
- Assist in preparation and execution of planned/unplanned maintenance activities as required as part of shift operating team or on day‑based assignment.
- Prepare shift logs and carry out effective hand‑overs ensuring operational continuity.
- Review operating documentation as required (e.g. operating instructions, P&IDs, COSHH).
- Competent for repeat gas testing within own area.
- Carry out operational routines within own area.
- Participate in emergency exercises and support OSC in event of an incident.
- Stops any work that does not conform to the standard or permit conditions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in oil and gas, manufacturing or other relevant industry.
- SVQ or HNC desirable.
- Demonstrable operations experience essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to support management of incidents and emergencies.
- Ability to work on a shift basis.
- Good understanding of safety management for operations and demonstrated personal commitment to safety.
- Proven track record of performing within a multi‑disciplined team, including ability to respond effectively to dynamically changing situations.
- Commitment to excellent SHE performance and zero tolerance for unsafe conditions/behaviours.
