There is an opportunity to join the O&P UK Project Team in the position of Project Estimator. The Project Estimator is responsible for developing multi-discipline estimates across the breadth of the project lifecycle and providing estimating expertise and advice to the business development, study and project teams for projects across the site.

Required Qualifications

  • Project Estimator with experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • HNC qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Awareness of engineering & field construction practices and materials.
  • Knowledge of the range of estimating techniques and the ability to select and apply the most appropriate on a per project basis.
  • Able to assess and grade the quality of design information provided for an estimate, supplementing as required by site survey or discussion with project team.
  • Ability to create material take-off from design information to generate bill of quantities and with sufficient understanding of industry standards, construction norms and site-specific factors to develop an estimate and recommend contingencies for review.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Confident presenter to lead the project team through estimate reviews.
  • Competent writing skills to document estimate and estimate review notes.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of proficiency with IT, expert level with Excel.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Access Database.
  • Able to obtain budget prices from market for materials and equipment for estimates and maintenance of dataset in estimating database.
  • Sufficient understanding of NACEI and contract pricing mechanisms to develop meaningful composite labour rate.
  • An understanding of probabilistic estimating.
  • Experience with industry standard estimating tools.
  • Familiarity with petro-chemical industry design and construction standards.
