Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: Grangemouth O&P UK (Infrastructure)
Salary: Dependent on skills, qualifications and experience
Contract type: Permanent & PAYE Agency Contract
Key Accountabilities
- Lead troubleshooting on critical equipment failures to establish root cause of failure and define design improvements to eliminate faults.
- Provide I/E support to the programme of CAPEX projects in the Infrastructure business.
- Develop, specify and procure critical I/E equipment and strategic spares.
- Ensure correct overall I/E spend to meet asset requirements within available budget and where required, drive appropriate prioritisation.
- Identify improvement initiatives to develop maintenance strategies to best practice.
- Provide discipline expertise and root cause analysis in troubleshooting asset vulnerabilities to minimise impact on the long-term operating plan.
- Provide discipline expertise for identified improvement projects and act as formal discipline sign off to ensure required level of service delivery.
- Generate Asset Care Policies and perform a review of Preventative Maintenance routines.
About You
Required:
- Be experienced in a relevant industry as an Instrument / Electrical Engineer preferably Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject or with equivalent demonstrable experience
- Demonstrate an understanding of discipline legislative and regulatory requirements and demonstrated ability to appropriately translate these requirements into equipment inspection/maintenance regimes
- Have an understanding of IEC 61511 Safety instrumented systems
- Familiarity with installations of IE equipment in Hazardous areas, BS EN 60079
- Be able to carry out Instrument & Electrical site audits
- Be skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Have experience of following a Plant Modification process and associated documentation management systems
- Be self‑motivated, with the ability to identify and pursue plant reliability issues to a satisfactory resolution
Desired:
- Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
- TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer
- CompEx 12 – Application Design Engineer
