Overview: The post-holder will deliver the execution phase of furnace outages to achieve HSE goals, sanctioned cost, and time performance commitments. The role includes developing and delivering furnace outage execution plans and scopes of work to meet statutory, asset and lifecycle requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the execution phase of furnace outages to achieve HSE goals, sanctioned cost, and time performance commitments.
  • Develop and deliver furnace outage execution plans and scopes of work to deliver all statutory, asset and lifecycle requirements.
  • Assess contractor estimations, quotes and durations against scope of work and negotiate when required.
  • Challenge and develop project scopes and specifications which satisfy appropriate engineering standards and outage requirements.
  • Coordinate/prioritise available work fronts accounting for SIMOPS and outage deadlines by interacting with contractors, construction supervisors and having an onsite presence.
  • Maintain project plans and status including planned vs actual, constraints, risks and provide daily and weekly program updates to asset management.
  • Highlight project problems early and work with project program lead to resolve.
  • Chair meetings related to each project and compile/maintain action logs from these meetings.
  • Track emergent workscope and progress to ensure completion of emergent work is carried out within the project timeframes and budget.
  • Carry out and report SHE compliance audits striving for best in class SHE performance.

About You:

Required:

  • Be degree qualified or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Have significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate experience in a project engineer role.
  • Have knowledge of project processes and best practices.
  • Have experience in major outages and delivering major scopes of work.
  • Good team player who can deliver under pressure.

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of Maximo (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects.
  • Good decision making and organisational skills.
  • Good communications skills and ability to communicate clearly with all levels of asset management and 3rd party contractors.
