We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join INEOS as Group Risk Manager, to help manage risk and insurance across this diverse international business. Reporting to the Group Head of Insurance, you will help design, implement and maintain the Group’s risk management framework and insurance programmes. You will work closely with senior management, operational teams, brokers, insurers and risk engineering specialists, providing clear and commercially focused advice. This is an opportunity to work at Group HQ level across a broad international portfolio of industrial businesses. You will gain exposure to complex risks, play a meaningful role in major insurance programmes and work directly with decision-makers across INEOS.

Responsibilities

  • Work with INEOS’ businesses to identify appropriate, cost-effective risk protection and insurance solutions.
  • Help structure, market and implement insurance programmes with brokers and insurers.
  • Take responsibility for selected corporate insurance renewals.
  • Review insurance arrangements to ensure they remain appropriate, effective and compliant.
  • Gather, analyse and validate underwriting information from businesses across the Group.
  • Assess and report significant risks and emerging issues.
  • Support businesses throughout the claims process.
  • Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, engineers and other specialist insurance providers.
  • Maintain effective programme governance, documentation and payment processes across the full set of INEOS’ corporate insurances.
  • Share risk and insurance knowledge across the business and contribute to continuous improvement.

What you will bring

  • At least 7-10 years insurance-sector experience, ideally gained across several classes of insurance.
  • Experience of complex corporate insurance programmes, gained in-house, with a broker or within the insurance market.
  • Energy and/or casualty insurance experience would be an advantage.
  • A practical understanding of risk management, insurance regulation and market practice.
  • Experience developing and implementing insurance programmes and processes.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn complex risk issues into clear, practical advice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-management skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and confidence working with risk and insurance data.
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
