Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

Reporting to the Business Controller, the role sits within the Group Finance team and is responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality quarterly condensed consolidated financial statements for INEOS Energy E&P Holdings II Limited, the annual consolidation statements for 3 legal entities within the INEOS Energy Group, and 15 standalone statutory financial accounts.

The role focuses on preparing IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements, including primary statements, disclosures, and supporting analysis, within tight reporting timelines to support Group decision-making and external stakeholders, including debt lenders.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare quarterly condensed consolidated financial statements for INEOS Energy E&P Holdings II Limited under IFRS, including primary statements and detailed notes to the accounts.
  • Produce high-quality quarterly reporting packs, including variance analysis and clear commentary to support management and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare 3 annual consolidated financial accounts and 20 standalone statutory financial accounts within the Energy Group.
  • Deliver financial results to strict reporting timetables, ensuring timely availability of accurate information for debt lenders and Group stakeholders.
  • Perform consolidation activities in HFM, including review of entity submissions, intercompany eliminations, and data validation.
  • Maintain robust control over balance sheet positions through regular reconciliations and investigation of variances.
  • Support external audit and review processes, ensuring all supporting schedules and disclosures are audit-ready on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide technical accounting support on IFRS matters and non-routine transactions, ensuring appropriate treatment and clear documentation.

Process improvements and ad-hoc projects

  • Drive continuous improvement in the quarterly reporting cycle, reducing close timelines and improving data accuracy to support timely reporting to lenders and Group stakeholders.
  • Enhance and standardise financial reporting processes, including development of robust controls, reconciliations and review procedures.
  • Optimise use of HFM, SAP and reporting tools to improve efficiency, automation and data integrity across the reporting process.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality reporting templates, including financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules under IFRS.
  • Strengthen intercompany and consolidation processes, ensuring consistency and reducing reconciliation differences across entities.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards, reporting requirements or system changes impacting Group reporting.
  • Partner with finance teams across entities to improve quality and timeliness of submissions into the Group consolidation process.

Line Management

  • Supervise, support and coach two finance staff, ensuring they are motivated, trained and resourced to deliver high performance and effective service.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Business Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • At least 5-7 years PQE
  • Experience in a large, multi-entity international group
  • Strong experience in IFRS financial reporting, including preparation of primary statements and disclosures
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS101) and evolving accounting standards
  • An in-depth understanding of the company's financial operations, including the consolidation of financial statements, inter-company transactions, consolidation adjustments, and accounting risk management
  • Experience with financial consolidation systems (HFM / Hyperion strongly preferred, OneSource Statutory Reporting)
  • Working knowledge of SAP (general ledger, reporting and data extraction)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to analyze large datasets and perform variance analysis
  • Strong analytical capability, with ability to interpret financial results and present clear, concise commentary
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs to tight deadlines, particularly in a quarterly reporting environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with auditors, senior stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ownership of outputs
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing audit-ready documentation
