INEOS Energy is the energy division of INEOS, producing and trading oil and gas. Operating across the Danish and UK North Sea with offshore oil & gas assets and onshore assets in South Texas, US, we also have a portfolio of non-operated assets built around two deep water early production assets in the US Gulf. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition.

The Group Communications Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering clear, consistent and engaging communications for INEOS Energy across internal and external channels. Operating at Group level, the role supports business priorities, protects and strengthens the INEOS Energy brand, and ensures effective engagement with employees and external stakeholders across the UK, Denmark and the US.

Responsibilities include:

  • Group Communications Strategy & Leadership Partnership: Establish and lead a cohesive Group communications strategy aligned to INEOS Energy’s business objectives and growth plans. Act as a trusted strategic advisor to CEOs and leadership teams across INEOS Energy businesses. Build strong, trusted relationships with CEOs and leadership teams across INEOS Energy businesses and regions, acting as a strategic partner to identify, shape and amplify the stories that matter internally and externally. Coordinate communications activity across geographies to ensure a clear and consistent Group narrative. Partner closely with the INEOS Group Communications team to ensure alignment on messaging, positioning and reputational matters. Operate as a hands-on communications lead, delivering both strategic direction and day-to-day content execution without reliance on a large supporting team. Support leadership teams with investor-facing communications, presentations and messaging where required.
  • Internal Communications: Develop and lead a Group-wide internal communications strategy in collaboration with senior management. Ensure organisational initiatives, strategic priorities and major projects are clearly communicated to employees across all regions. Plan, write, edit and design content across internal channels, ensuring clarity, consistency and engagement. Drive employee engagement with internal communications platforms and continuously improve effectiveness. Ensure messaging is timely, aligned to leadership priorities and culturally appropriate across geographies. Lead internal communications during emergency or crisis situations, protecting employee understanding and trust.
  • External Communications & Digital Channels: Own and lead all content across INEOS Energy’s owned channels, ensuring it reflects Group priorities and enhances brand reputation. Personally develop, write, edit and publish high-quality content, maintaining a consistent and engaging pipeline across digital platforms. Identify and implement innovative approaches to grow audience reach, engagement and impact. Translate complex or technical topics into clear, compelling and accessible messaging for both internal and external audiences. Lead the update and ongoing governance of the INEOS Energy website, with direct accountability for content accuracy, quality and compliance. Ensure all external communications align with INEOS brand guidelines, tone of voice and corporate positioning. Monitor performance, engagement and sentiment, using data and insight to continuously refine content and approach.
  • Corporate & CSR Communications: Support the development and delivery of CSR and sustainability communications in line with Group objectives. Provide strategic communications support for key business milestones, projects and announcements. Develop briefing materials, speeches and messaging for senior leaders as required. Work closely with the INEOS Group Communications team to ensure alignment on Group messaging, media approach and reputational matters. Prepare high-quality presentations and communications for investors, leadership meetings and external stakeholders. Support investor relations activity through the development of clear, consistent and commercially focused messaging.
  • Governance, Brand & Stakeholder Management: Maintain rigorous brand governance, ensuring correct branding, tone of voice and messaging standards across all INEOS Energy communications. Act as a trusted communications advisor to senior stakeholders across the Group. Coordinate communications activity across geographies to ensure a cohesive and aligned Group narrative. Manage external suppliers and agencies where required.

Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media studies, marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in internal and external communications, digital content, investor communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience preparing executive and investor presentation materials.
  • Strong and impactful storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Experience creating and executing an internal and external communications strategy effectively.
  • Proven experience in a communications manager or senior communications role, ideally within an energy environment.
  • Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex or technical topics into clear messaging.
  • Experience managing LinkedIn and website content at a corporate or Group level.
  • Confident working with senior leaders and advising on communications strategy.
  • Ability to operate across multiple geographies and manage competing priorities.
  • High levels of discretion and sound judgement, particularly in sensitive or crisis situations.
  • Experience with digital communications and asset creation e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite etc.
  • Team player, detail oriented, creative and innovative.
  • Experience within energy, industrial, engineering or multinational organisations.
  • Familiarity with brand governance in large organisations.
  • Knowledge of CSR or sustainability communications.
  • Familiar with investor relations or financial communications.
