At INEOS Energy, we produce and trade oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low-carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea, and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

INEOS Energy Trading operates across Oil (crude and refined products), Natural Gas, LNG and derivatives markets. Our core mission is to fully monetise INEOS Energy’s equity Oil and Gas production across Europe and the US. Beyond this, the Trading and Business Development teams are tasked with originating and developing complementary third-party physical business. Our team is on an exciting growth journey, and we anticipate continued growth across both new commodities and geographies, as the business evolves to support INEOS Energy’s expanding global footprint.

Our Trading Operations function plans, executes and monitors all trading activity, ensuring that contractual, compliance and commercial obligations are met across the full deal lifecycle. As our commodity coverage, counterparty base and exchange memberships continue to grow, accurate and well-governed static data in our ETRM system is a critical enabler of trading efficiency, risk control and regulatory compliance. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to take ownership of this function.

The Trade Support is responsible for the integrity and completeness of all standing data held within the firm’s ETRM system, and for managing the firm’s operational relationship with exchanges. The role owns the creation and maintenance of counterparty records, broker fee cards and ETRM contract set-up, and manages trader and broker permissioning across ICE, EEX, NYMEX and other relevant venues. The role works at the intersection of front office, technology and operations, and is central to supporting straight-through processing (STP), data quality and the overall efficiency of the deal lifecycle. Drawing on the firm’s Data Integrity governance framework, the Analyst proactively identifies mapping errors, drives automation opportunities and ensures system parameters are always ready to support new business activity.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own the creation and maintenance of counterparty static data in the ETRM system, including new counterparty onboarding, legal entity mapping, credit and settlement account linkage, and ongoing data quality reviews and audits.
  • Set up and maintain broker fee cards in the ETRM, ensuring brokerage rates, tiered structures and agreement terms are accurately reflected; liaise with the Confirms/Contracts team to validate against signed broker agreements.
  • Configure and maintain ETRM “contracts” (master agreement set-up within the system), ensuring agreement type (EFET, NAESB, MSPA, ISDA, bespoke Oil), netting elections, payment terms and product scope are accurately captured for each counterparty relationship.
  • Act as the firm’s primary operational point of contact with exchanges (ICE, EEX, NYMEX and others) for all trader and broker permissioning: process joiner, mover and leaver requests accurately and within agreed SLAs, maintaining a full audit log of all changes.
  • Manage new product permissioning on exchange and within the ETRM: coordinate with Traders, Legal, Compliance and Technology to ensure all pre-trade requirements are met; maintain the product permission matrix and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage exchange-level broker set-up, including submission of give-up / take-up agreements, FCM account documentation and broker account registration; ensure configurations are consistent with signed brokerage agreements and ETRM fee cards.
  • Maintain system parameters and static data (product codes, exchange mappings, price source configurations) in advance of new products, market events and trading activity; audit automated STP flows and resolve mapping failures and booking breaks.
  • Manage all standing data change requests through a controlled workflow, ensuring appropriate authorisation, four-eyes approval and audit trail are maintained; perform root cause analysis on standing data errors and operational incidents.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation and digitalisation within the standing data and exchange operations function.
  • Produce regular MI and exception reports for management covering data quality KPIs, outstanding permissioning requests, stale records and open audit items; support internal and external audits by providing evidence of standing data governance.
  • Support Trade Control and Document Administration in maintaining a document repository of trade contracts, broker agreements and exchange membership records.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a trade support, ETRM operations, exchange operations or data management role within a commodity or financial trading environment.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining standing data in an ETRM system (Openlink Endur, Aspect CTRM, Triple Point, ION or equivalent), including counterparty set-up and product/contract configuration.
  • Practical knowledge of exchange operations at ICE, EEX, NYMEX or equivalent, specifically trader and broker permissioning, joiner/mover/leaver processes and new product activation.
  • Understanding of commodity master agreements (EFET, NAESB, MSPA, ISDA, bespoke Oil GTCs) and how these map to ETRM contract configuration.
  • Experience setting up or maintaining broker fee structures in a trading or ETRM system.
  • Strong understanding of the commodity trade lifecycle and how standing data quality affects STP, confirmations, settlements and risk reporting.
  • Experience with give-up / take-up agreement set-up and FCM account management at exchanges is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SQL, Python or Power BI skills for data quality reporting and exception monitoring are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Trayport/Joule or other OTC brokerage platforms and their ETRM integration is beneficial.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data ownership mindset; understands that a single incorrect counterparty field or missing fee card can cascade into settlement disputes, booking failures or regulatory breaches.
  • Methodical and process-disciplined; follows change management and authorisation procedures rigorously and maintains complete audit trails.
  • Proactively identifies STP failures and data breaks before they impact trading or settlement; investigates root cause rather than just fixing symptoms.
  • Self-motivated with a bias for action; takes ownership of issues through to resolution with limited supervision.
  • Clear and confident communicator; able to engage exchange operations teams, brokers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively across Trading, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Operations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; constantly looks for opportunities to automate, standardise and simplify standing data workflows.
  • High energy levels and a hands-on approach; comfortable operating in a fast-paced trading environment with multiple competing priorities.
