ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

INEOS O&P UK are looking for a Study Engineer within our Infrastructure Asset to define and deliver engineering studies in line with O&P UK IIGL Infrastructure business demands and recommend proposals to improve business performance and meet regulatory/compliance requirements.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering studies to develop practical, value-adding options for the asset.
  • Deliver studies to agreed cost, schedule, and quality targets, taking corrective action where required.
  • Define and agree study scope, objectives, and priorities with stakeholders, including leading kick-off and business prioritisation sessions.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external contractors to develop designs and obtain cost estimates for options.
  • Identify and deliver key outputs required to enable robust option selection.
  • Ensure safety and environmental requirements are considered throughout option development and selection.
  • Produce high-quality study reports with clear recommendations to support business investment decisions.
  • Prepare sanction documentation (e.g. Sanction Summary Requests) for study and early project phases.
  • Support risk management processes by identifying, assessing, and reviewing safety and engineering risks.

ABOUT YOU

Required:

  • Chartered Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (or working towards this), with demonstrable relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of plant modification processes and associated documentation systems.
  • Sound knowledge of process safety principles and their practical application.
  • Experience supporting HAZOPs, investigations, and SIL assessments.
  • Familiar with stage-gate project processes (e.g. CVP) and relevant engineering standards.
  • Proven history in delivering engineering studies from initial scoping through to recommendation.
  • Good understanding of hydrocarbon and/or utilities assets.
