Instrument & Electrical Construction supervisor Role Duration: Permanent Location: Grangemouth
About the role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the post holder will be an integral part of the Major Events Team. They will be accountable for supervising and managing the performance of all electrical and instrument construction activities across FPS projects and major events. The role provides construction support to INEOS FPS Instrument and Electrical Engineers and term contractors, including pre‑engineering support, site delivery monitoring and quality assurance across delivery, cost and SHE. The role spans all INEOS FPS assets, where major events and project teams plan and execute construction work, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in a cost‑effective manner.
What does the day to day look like?
- Adheres to and promotes INEOS 20 Principles and 7 Life Saving Rules to colleagues and external vendors.
- Working closely with the Asset Engineers to ensure Instrument & Electrical construction projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to INEOS FPS standards.
- Support the development of engineering work packs.
- Coordinate construction kick‑off meetings, pre‑mobilisation checklists, TQ/SI management, and punch list completion, ensuring compliance with Electrical & Instrument certification requirements.
- Conduct regular SHE, performance, quality, and audit reviews across Instrument & Electrical construction projects.
- Collaborate with asset and contractor planning teams to develop construction plans and participate in daily and weekly progress meetings.
- Perform monthly cost assurance reviews in line with the INEOS cost assurance process.
- Liaise with procurement teams and vendors, regarding materials and services for Instrument & Electrical construction activities.
- Requirement during Major Events to work extended days to ensure that the business maintain schedule during business‑critical Major Events.
What do I need?
- ONC/HNC in Instrument & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years experience in oil and gas, manufacturing or relevant industry.
- Detailed knowledge of EX equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Experience of Instrument and Electrical isolations.
- Fully conversant with Control of Work processes and tools.
- Capable of interpreting detailed Instrument/Electrical drawings.
- Detailed knowledge of work completions processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels (both within INEOS and with contractor resource) with an appropriate style.
- Disciplined planning and organisation skills together with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong networking and coordination skills.
- Logical, proactive and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to recognise key issues and who needs to know about them.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated and prepared to work flexibly in a changing environment.
- Commitment to excellent SHE performance and zero tolerance for unsafe conditions/ behaviours.
