ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

Highly motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers are required to join our Infrastructure Asset team. We are offering 1 permanent position and 1 PAYE agency contract position which provides an exciting opportunity for the right individuals to work within a plant area that includes a diverse array of equipment types.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead troubleshooting on critical equipment failures to establish root cause of failure and define design improvements to eliminate faults.
  • Provide I/E support to the programme of CAPEX projects in the Infrastructure business.
  • Develop, specify and procure critical I/E equipment and strategic spares.
  • Ensure correct overall I/E spend to meet asset requirements within available budget and where required, drive appropriate prioritisation.
  • Identify improvement initiatives to develop maintenance strategies to best practice.
  • Provide discipline expertise and root cause analysis in troubleshooting asset vulnerabilities to minimise impact on the long‑term operating plan.
  • Provide discipline expertise for identified improvement projects and act as formal discipline sign off to ensure required level of service delivery.
  • Generate Asset Care Policies and perform a review of Preventative Maintenance routines.

ABOUT YOU

  • Be experienced in a relevant industry as an Instrument / Electrical Engineer preferably Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject or with equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Demonstrate an understanding of discipline legislative and regulatory requirements and demonstrated ability to appropriately translate these requirements into equipment inspection/maintenance regimes
  • Have an understanding of IEC 61511 Safety instrumented systems
  • Familiarity with installations of IE equipment in Hazardous areas, BS EN 60079
  • Be able to carry out Instrument & Electrical site audits
  • Be skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Have experience of following a Plant Modification process and associated documentation management systems
  • Be self‑motivated, with the ability to identify and pursue plant reliability issues to a satisfactory resolution
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
  • TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer
