We are seeking a candidate that can deliver technical and engineering support to the FPS commercial team, provide the interface with the Kinneil technical, site and operations teams, and to represent INEOS FPS externally in a technical capacity. All in order to achieve high-quality engineering assurance for new and existing business opportunities.

What does the day to day look like?

Provide technical support to the Commercial Team members across all matters in relation to FPS operations both present and future.

Represent INEOS FPS externally in a technical capacity, in order to protect and enhance value via a thorough understanding of the technical impact on the FPS facilities of new business opportunities, changes to existing customer requirements, fluid compositions and residual gas content.

What do I need?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educated to Masters’ degree level in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or appropriate technical discipline.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a technical role working with oil and gas or chemical plants and/or projects.
  • Should include Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering and/or Operational experience.
  • Capability to manipulate and use Aspen HYSYS software.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Outside of the Kinneil technical primacy, an interest in the wider commercial model for the FPS business.
  • Comfortable with a variety of process and technical models.
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic and evident desire to learn and develop coupled with excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate technical information with clarity and focus, to have confidence to make recommendations on courses of action in order to inform decision makers, in support of team performance.
  • Ability to build and develop new relationships with colleagues, internal stakeholders, customers and external stakeholders, all in order to support business with INEOS FPS as a trusted partner.
  • Good IT skills, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to influence others using networking, communication, strong presentational and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of timely delivery.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate technical information with succinctness and clarity to a non-technical audience and with a focus on delivery of key economic criteria (NPVs, DPIs, IRRs etc.).
  • Delivery of commercial KPIs through clarity, cooperation, collaboration, communication and compromise; Building unity of effort with common purpose, momentum and focus.

Job Knowledge Skills:

  • A general business awareness and understanding of Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of site/area working practices to facilitate others to support aligned delivery of the commercial business plan.
  • Able to understand the impact of technical issues (composition, yields, residual gas content, energy efficiencies) and their ramifications on commercial decisions and the business.
