Full Time, Permanent (based at Hull site 5 days a week). Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the INEOS Acetyls Team. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business. INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and a range of derivatives across Europe, Asia, and America. The Hull site is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The Opportunity The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing cost‑effective engineering and maintenance plans for assets at the Hull Site to achieve safe, reliable, high‑rate operations. The role is a development opportunity to progress into a Supervisory or Coordinator role.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment performance, maintain, repair and troubleshoot.
- Provide suggestions on equipment performance and problems experienced.
- Manage spares in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor and Coordinator.
- Perform laser alignment of rotating equipment.
- Practice preventative maintenance using specialised equipment.
- Record maintenance activities electronically and interact with IT systems (SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Work within the Control of Work systems and accompanying SSO’s.
- Supervise and facilitate people and work, including day‑to‑day supervision of contractors and service providers where required.
- Assist with leak sealing activities.
- Assist with HP Jetting when required – training will be provided.
About You Ideally, you bring prior work experience within the process/petrochemical industry and are familiar with Control of Work and COMAH sites. You are ONC qualified in an engineering related subject with experience of line management and working with maintenance teams. You can organise support services and work independently with minimum supervision. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Technical Qualifications
- Knowledge of pumps and their application.
- Knowledge of hand valves, types, use and repair.
- Proficient in joint repair, gasketing and bolt selection.
- Knowledge of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
- Knowledge of advantage: leak sealing, HP Jetting, oil analysis, vibration analysis, laser alignment, thermography, small bore pipe installation.
- Knowledge of steam distribution systems, heat tracing, etc.
If additional training is required, you will be comfortable attending internal and external training courses to gain or maintain competencies.
