The role

The Facilities Lead role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient inspection & maintenance of all INEOS non-manufacturing facilities across the site.

Provided by third party vendors, this role will facilitate the safe and efficient coordination of activities including building inspection & maintenance, statutory compliance activities (e. g. legionella & HVAC sampling, Portable & fixed appliance testing) and "soft FM" services.

The role is the primary point of contact between the INEOS team and the third-party provider(s) for this scope.

The accountabilities include but are not limited to

  • Uphold the "INEOS 20 BEHAVIOURAL & PROCESS SAFETY PRINCIPLES" & "Life Saving Rules" in all activities undertaken.
  • Compliance with all statutory legislative requirements regarding Facilities scope including the ability to demonstrate compliance under scrutiny/audit.
  • Lead the effective operation and maintenance of all site facilities and building services.
  • Ensure planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate daily facilities activities to minimise disruption to INEOS operations.
  • Monitor the condition of buildings, plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Support business continuity by ensuring critical facility systems remain operational.
  • Contractor Management
  • Manage and oversee contractors delivering facilities services.
  • Ensure contractors comply with site rules, permit-to-work systems, and health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor contractor performance, service delivery, and compliance with agreed service levels.
  • Support procurement activities and supplier evaluations.
  • Act as technical QA sign off upon completion of works, for building utilities including domestic electrical systems, gas and water.
  • Ensure that essential cleaning and welfare operations take place in a safe consistent and reliable manner including the management of the INEOS workforce overall laundry (performed by others).
  • Compliance & SHE
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain statutory inspections, certifications, and maintenance records.
  • Manage permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and safe systems of work including composing insolation strategies and writing permits/other Control of Work documents.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote the INEOS SHE culture across the site and model SHE behaviours.
  • Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records through the site's Computerised maintenance management system. (CMMS) and document management system.
  • Management of specialist contractors including the maintenance of the INEOS on-site gym.
  • Support lifecycle planning and capital replacement programmes including leading minor facilities improvement projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Work with the TAR Manager/TAR Team to assist with TAR (Turnaround) facilities build, maintain and decommission.

What you need to apply

  • Proven experience within facilities management, building services, or engineering maintenance.
  • Recognised domestic electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Electrical Inspection & Testing qualifications would be desirable.
  • Formal SHE training such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Lv3 General Certificate, or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Experience managing contractors and leading external (3rd party) teams.
  • Strong experience regarding Control of Work/permit to work systems including experience in isolation composition & issue.
  • Ideally experience of LV Switching and the isolation/de-isolation of other building related utilities (e. g. water/gas etc.)
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance programmes and asset management systems. (Ideally SAP conversant)
  • Proficient in record keeping systems to ensure reliable and efficient record keeping (including statutory documentation/records etc.)
  • Knowledge of relevant UK health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Behavioural Skills
