Operations & Production Manager required for a leading European logistics company based in Wisbech.

This is a pivotal role where you\’ll be responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring product quality, and leading a high-performing team. You\’ll oversee day-to-day operations while also shaping long-term strategy, making sure our plant runs smoothly, safely, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities For This Senior Operations Manager Role

• Boost Efficiency: Increase packaging line throughput, minimise downtime, and achieve OEE targets.
• Quality & Safety: Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and HSE standards while reducing defects and waste.
• Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and line teams, building strong engagement and succession plans.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma projects to cut costs, improve flow, and reduce stoppages.
• Resource Management: Oversee labour, budgets, materials, and inventory to keep operations cost-effective and seamless.
• Customer Focus: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to meet service levels and support audits.
• Strategic Growth: Align operations with business strategy, support new product launches, and plan for future capacity.

What Were Looking For In The Right Candidate

• 57 years proven experience in operations management, ideally within a production or packaging environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Background in budgeting, financial oversight, and operational reporting.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimisation.
• Degree in Business / Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in management software and productivity tools.
