An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. The role is suited to someone with hands-on manufacturing experience and strong SolidWorks capability, supporting projects from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
  • Support new product development including prototyping, testing, and production transition
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for manufacturability and assembly
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design and quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and performance
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues, implementing corrective actions where required

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ mechanical design experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong SolidWorks experience
  • Experience producing GD&T compliant drawings
  • Understanding of machining, sheet metal, moulding, and assembly processes
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Knowledge of NPI, ERP/MRP systems, and prototyping/testing processes
