An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control professional to support the Production Manager across high-care and low-care activities and the wider production process. The successful candidate will help develop and maintain a strong food safety and quality culture, ensuring customer, regulatory and company standards are consistently met. The role will also support the business in maintaining BRC Grade AA audit readiness through effective HACCP controls, quality systems, auditing, documentation, training and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong Quality Assurance and Food Safety culture across the production environment.
- Ensure production processes and finished products are controlled in line with HACCP, food safety and customer standards.
- Maintain factory quality, food safety documentation and production paperwork.
- Conduct internal audits and monitor compliance with BRC and company procedures.
- Carry out product taste panels and monitor product quality standards.
- Identify and support the investigation of quality issues, non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Ensure production staff complete required quality and food safety documentation correctly.
- Assist with production line activities when required.
- Support on-site training relating to food safety, quality and procedures.
- Work with Production and other departments to identify and implement continuous improvements.
- Maintain the site in a constant state of audit readiness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Technical role within food manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Experience working within a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Understanding of BRC standards and audit requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams.
- Proactive approach to quality, food safety and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Good computer literacy.
- Experience conducting internal audits.
- Experience with product quality assessments or taste panels.
- Experience assisting with food safety and quality training.
Working Hours & Shifts
The role involves working 5 days per week, with flexibility required across production shifts.
- First Shift: 6:00am β 2:00pm
- Second Shift: 2:00pm β 10:00pm
- Night Shift: To be confirmed
A third/night shift is expected to be introduced and will attract a 20% shift premium.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Β£28,500 β Β£30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
