Industrious is recruiting for a Goods In Operator to join a busy, fast-paced warehouse and production environment.

Job Purpose

The Goods In Operator plays a key role in managing incoming deliveries within a fast-moving working environment. You will receive, check and store products safely while maintaining strong standards of accuracy, quality and safety. Working closely with production teams, you ensure materials are available to support efficient manufacturing processes.

Reporting Structure

You will report to the Production Line Manager and work alongside production and warehouse staff to support smooth operational flow.

Working Hours & Pay

  • Pay Rate: £13.44 per hour
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

Operational Tasks

  • Receive, inspect, sort and store incoming goods including raw materials, finished products, machinery and spare parts.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate handling equipment.
  • Conduct required compliance checks and testing on delivered raw materials.
  • Stack and move goods securely within designated storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter relevant information into computer systems.
  • Handle and dispose of waste safely.
  • Use approved cleaning products to maintain a hygienic area.

Quality & Safety

  • Follow food safety, hygiene, traceability and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy, organised and safe workplace.
  • Prevent contamination risks through correct use of PPE.
  • Resolve minor hygiene or quality issues where possible.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Build positive working relationships across departments.
  • Support colleagues by covering breaks or absence when required.
  • Use available IT systems for reporting and communication.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Skills & Competencies

Essential Skills

  • Valid forklift licence/certificate.
  • Basic food hygiene training.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety procedures.
