Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
- Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Support new product development including prototyping, testing, and production transition
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for manufacturability and assembly
- Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design and quality issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and performance
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues, implementing corrective actions where required
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ mechanical design experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong SolidWorks experience
- Experience producing GD&T compliant drawings
- Understanding of machining, sheet metal, moulding, and assembly processes
- Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
- Knowledge of NPI, ERP/MRP systems, and prototyping/testing processes
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and ISO-regulated environments is advantageous
