This is a senior technical role focused on dimensional measurement, vision-based metrology systems and customer application support. You will act as a key technical resource for customers, sales teams, and internal product development, providing expertise across measurement applications, system setup, calibration, and product development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support on dimensional measurement and vision-based metrology.
- Set up, test and calibrate optical and vision measurement systems.
- Advise customers on measurement methods, tolerances, and accuracy.
- Support demonstrations, training, and technical problem-solving.
- Work with design teams to support new product development.
- Mentor less experienced engineers within the metrology team.
- Travel to customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas.
Requirements:
- At least five years’ experience in metrology or dimensional inspection.
- Strong understanding of measurement principles, tolerances, and accuracy.
- Experience with optical, vision-based, or non-contact measurement systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and advise on measurement methods.
- Practical experience setting up or calibrating measurement equipment.
- Strong customer-facing communication and technical problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work primarily on-site near Woking and travel when required.
