Are you an experienced Machine Assembler with a background in machinery assembly or machine building? Do you enjoy working from engineering drawings, assembling precision equipment, and seeing projects through from build to installation? Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established machinery manufacturer based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Machine Assembler / Builder to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the assembly of bespoke, high-precision machinery while gaining exposure to customer installations both in the UK and overseas.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (Negotiable DOE) + Bonus

Contract: Permanent

  • Assemble and fit a range of machine components including bearings, seals, pulleys, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors, and associated mechanical systems
  • Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, engineering schematics, and technical documentation
  • Use a variety of workshop equipment and hand tools to complete assembly work to a high standard
  • Conduct machine testing and inspections prior to dispatch
  • Support machine installations, upgrades, servicing, and repairs at customer sites across the UK and internationally
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support project delivery deadlines
  • Have previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, Assembly Technician, or similar engineering role
  • Be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and assembly instructions
  • Have experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, motors, and mechanical assemblies
  • Hold a valid UK Driving Licence and passport, with the flexibility to travel when required
  • Electrical assembly or fault-finding knowledge
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Previous experience installing or commissioning machinery on customer sites
