Are you a skilled bench joiner or wood machinist who prefers proper workshop work over site installs? This is a rare opportunity to use your craftsmanship on highly detailed, technical builds that go far beyond standard joinery.

Impact Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Northamptonshire that produces high-end architectural products. They are looking for a capable workshop professional to manufacture precision wooden moulds and patterns used in cast stone production. It is intricate, hands-on work that requires accuracy, care, and pride in what you produce. This is not repetitive production line work. Every project is different, and your skill will be genuinely valued.

The Role

  • Manufacture detailed wooden moulds and formers used to cast architectural stone products
  • Work from technical mould drawings that are produced in reverse, requiring strong spatial awareness and the ability to visualise the finished piece
  • Operate woodworking machinery including spindle moulders, saws, planers and sanding equipment
  • Carry out traditional bench joinery - marking out, shaping, assembling and finishing timber components
  • Work to tight tolerances and high quality standards
  • Inspect finished moulds to ensure they are accurate and ready for casting
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to overcome practical build challenges

What They’re Looking For

  • Solid background in bench joinery or wood machining in a workshop or manufacturing setting
  • Confident operating woodworking machinery safely
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working in reverse/negative form for moulds, or strong aptitude and spatial awareness to learn
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Practical problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Not suitable for: This position is not aimed at site carpenters whose experience is mainly installation-based rather than workshop manufacture.

What’s on Offer

  • Permanent role with long-term stability
  • £15.00 - £19.00 per hour depending on experience
  • Morning shift: Monday-Thursday: 6:30am - 3:00pm, Friday: 6:30am - 2:00pm (early finish)
  • Skilled, varied work where quality matters

If you take pride in precision joinery and enjoy technical workshop builds rather than site work, this is well worth a look.
