An established precision engineering environment is seeking a skilled CNC Setter / Operator / Programmer to join its high-performing machining team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a capable machinist with a strong turning background who is looking to work on modern equipment, develop programming ability, and take ownership of quality components from start to finish. This role sits within a busy, well-invested machining facility where precision, consistency, and attention to detail are essential. You will be working on CNC lathes producing high-tolerance components for demanding applications, where standards are high and expectations even higher.
The Role
- Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision-engineered components
- Editing and/or creating programmes at the machine using Fanuc controls
- Interpreting complex engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
- Selecting tooling, setting work-holding, and proving out first-off components
- Carrying out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Ensuring consistent quality and maintaining production efficiency
- Supporting continuous improvement in machining processes and set-up times
