Electronic Test Technician β Industrial Work Solutions

Industrial Work Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing engineering and technology manufacturer based in Cumbria. They produce specialist electronic equipment used across global industries and are now looking to add an experienced Electronic Test Technician to their production and engineering team.
The Role
You will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and validating a range of electronic assemblies and systems to ensure they meet strict performance and quality standards. This role involves supporting both new product builds and routine manufacturing, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional testing, calibration, and diagnostics on electronic assemblies and complete systems
- Use test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers, etc.)
- Fault-find and repair at component and system level
- Conduct environmental and pressure testing where required
- Maintain accurate test documentation and reports
- Provide feedback to engineering on improvements to test processes
- Assist with developing and refining test procedures and equipment
- Offer technical support to production teams during builds
- Work in line with company quality and health & safety standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ONC/HNC in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong practical skills in electronic testing, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Confident using a wide range of electronic test instruments
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical documentation
- Good IT skills and familiarity with test software
- Excellent attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach
- Experience in marine, industrial, or ruggedised electronic environments
- Knowledge of acoustic, sonar, RF, or similar electronic systems
- Understanding of IPC standards for PCB assembly and soldering

- Salary circa Β£30,000 β Β£35,000 depending on experience
