Job brief
The Valve Technician position performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, control valves etc.
- Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of various valves at our Swansea facilities (Occasionally Pembroke) and client locations.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to valve maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for valve repair.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and manuals and comply with company quality control procedures.
- Thoroughly complete all documentation associated with testing and repairs.
- Ability to travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements.
- Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Works closely with co-workers, management and QEHS Co-ordinator to ensure safety of themselves and that of others.
- Carry out transportation of valves to and from sites when required.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong knowledge of valve types, components, and repair techniques.
- NVQ / HNC in Mechanical Engineering (Desired but not essential if experience held of 5 Years).
- Experience in fork lift driving (If not β training will be provided).
- A Full UK driving licence & suitable transport.
- You must be punctual, self-motivated and willing to learn.
- You must have excellent organisation skills with attention to detail.
- You must be able to work in a team and sometimes alone.
- You must be dedicated to learn new skills and attend regular training as requested by the company.
- Holder of a CCNSG Card (If not β training will be provided).
- All PPE, training and expenses paid by IVS.
- Ability to work closely within an experienced team.
