Hughes Mushrooms is a forward-thinking innovator within the agri-food mushroom sector, working closely with a trusted network of growers to supply premium-quality mushrooms, along with a range of vegan and vegetarian products.They are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team on a permanent basis at their Dungannon site. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day electrical maintenance across all machinery, services and facilities. The role also involves providing technical support to manufacturing operations and delivering proactive, effective solutions to electrical engineering challenges, ensuring production capability is maintained and optimised.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake electrical maintenance cover for production to ensure that breakdowns and other issues are resolved promptly, and downtime is minimised.
  • Utilise system to ensure that all Active Maintenance work is logged, recorded and closed.
  • Utilise the Maintenance Request Data Base to ensure that all Reactive Maintenance work is logged, recorded and closed.
  • Undertake project work through from installation to commissioning to ensure changes are implemented to the plan and refined if necessary.
  • Provide technical support within the engineering department, to other operational departments and external contractors to ensure that the best solutions are identified and implemented.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings which drive departmental performance in order to support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Follow all site rules relating to health & safety, environment and quality to ensure that we remain compliant with all legislation and internal procedures.
  • Safe dismantling of machines, performing checks and assisting breakdowns.
  • Conducting weekly energy readings and reporting back to management on any issues.
  • Conduct daily risk assessments on workstations, machines and production floor and reporting any maintenance requirements in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Aid with lock out tag out system.
  • Conduct an effective shift hand over to Team Leaders and Management.
  • Conduct effective PAT testing and report any issues/concerns to line management under Fire Safety Regulations N.I. and the health and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or experience, typically gained as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in setting up and performing various electrical / electronic tests (LV and/or HV systems)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of fault diagnosis on control systems diagnostics.
  • Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, or equivalent, or strong experience.
  • Train the Trainer
