Our client, the UK\’s and Ireland\’s leading supplier of kitchen doors and components are seeking a proactive and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team on the night shift.The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimum production efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on machinery and production equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Assist with electrical installations and project work as required.
- Collaborate with the day shift engineering team to ensure smooth handovers and consistent engineering practices.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.
- Dual-skilled or experience with mechanical maintenance tasks.
- Experience working night shifts.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations in an industrial setting (e.g., PUWER, LOLER).
