Reporting to the Senior Proposals Manager, you’ll be responsible for creating detailed technical proposals, ranging from PLC and SCADA systems to full turnkey solutions. Collaboration with sales teams and customers to understand and exceed expectations are key. Accuracy in proposals and strong written English skills are critical. You’ll also manage quotation cost spreadsheets and liaise with suppliers and engineering for accurate tendering. Building and maintaining professional customer relationships, and responding promptly to their needs, is a vital part of the role.
Working for the Senior Proposals Manager, you will be part of a company that is committed to building long term mutual relationships with customers, and responsible for maintaining support to the many clients we have worked with since the company was formed in 1991. ITS’ team strives to understand our clients’ needs and work closely with them to provide high quality proposals and solutions that meet and exceed expectations.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for producing a range of technical proposals including PLC and SCADA systems, Upgrades, Training, Service Level Agreements, Digital Solutions, Management Information Systems, manpower support projects through to full turnkey solutions. This will include defining and estimating the solution and detailing the proposed solution in the form of a quote or tender, along with any supporting information that may be required by the client.
Working with ITS’ customers and sales personnel you will be required to gain a comprehensive understanding of each customer’s requirements and will be responsible for producing high quality proposals that meet and exceed client’s expectations. You must have good attention to detail and will be required to achieve a high level of accuracy in the quotations that you produce and therefore good written English is important in the proposal process. You will also be responsible for creating quotation cost spreadsheets including hardware, software and engineering components. You will be responsible for obtaining prices from our suppliers and may need to liaise with the engineering departments to include accurate timescales and engineering days in each tender in developing the proposal. Once produced, all quotations will be internally approved by the relevant Project Manager, Head of Operations or Company Directors.
The work will be varied and every proposal will be a new and exciting opportunity to use and develop different skills. You will be responsible for responding promptly to customer requirements and developing good customer relationships in a professional manner.
Requirements- Previous sales / proposals experience
- Commercial Awareness/ knowledge of commercial contracts
- Must have good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively both formally and informally, orally and in written English.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Chemical Manufacturing or Power and Energy is also highly desirable

This job role would ideally suit someone who has a background in engineering or someone who has worked for is working for a systems integrator and who may want to transition to a sales/proposals led role. The ideal candidates will have an automation or process control systems background and a good understanding of PLC & SCADA and or management information / manufacturing execution systems.
