Job Title: Forklift Mechanic Job Summary: The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the ISI fleet of forklifts. This position requires someone with strong organizational and time management skills, deadline and detail oriented. A successful candidate must have extensive experience as a forklift mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Duties/ Responsibilities: Inspects forklift fleet to ensure forklifts are working properly and safely, schedules and performs routine maintenance for forklifts Repairs and maintains various types of forklifts, mostly gas-powered Identifies any forklifts that need repairs and removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor Ensures batteries for electric forklifts are fully charged and replaces empty propane tanks on propane-powered forklifts Maintains repair log for forklift fleet Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems Maintains vehicle records for services and repairs Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with ISI / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Required Skills/ Abilities: High School degree required, completion of forklift mechanic\’s training course required Minimum of 5 years of related experience as a forklift mechanic State inspection license preferred Must have your own tools Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic computer skills necessary Deadline and detail-oriented Physical Demands Must be able to complete the essential functions of this position: stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend Occasionally exerting up to 60 pounds of force and lifting up to 50 pounds Operating tools, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks The position is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes #ZR ISI is an equal opportunity employer.
