The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the production equipment at two facility locations. This position is responsible for building maintenance and grounds maintenance, which includes snow removal from walkways, stairs, etc. This position requires someone with exceptional mechanical skills and the ability to maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work areas. Additionally, this position requires someone with exceptional commercial electrical experience.
A successful candidate must have the ability to use various hand tools, shop machinery (drills, saws, shears, etc.), forklifts, and cranes.
Success Criteria & Measurement- Performs all work in a timely manner as designated by the Service Manager
- Accurately diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
- Safely use all equipment, such as welding guns, tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.
- Effectively communicate with the Service Manager and other team members verbally, through text, or email
- Critical thinking skills
- Work with limited supervision and in a clean and organized manner
- Maintaining and installing electrical systems (example: running conduit, moving panel boxes)
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, fixtures and other electrical components
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry work
- Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment taking apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
- Check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
- During inclement weather, you are able to run a plow to remove snow from parking lot and remove snow from walk ways before shop employees arrive
- Perform other duties as determined by the Service Manager
- Must be able to complete the essential functions of this position: stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time on a regular basis
- Operating tools, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks
- The position is subject to environmental conditions and will work in all weather conditions
- High School degree required, related degree from a technical college helpful
- Current, valid driver's license with a safe driving history
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience with proven maintenance experience: solid mix of machine maintenance (including pneumatics and hydraulics) and industrial building maintenance (including electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience working with high voltage electricity (480v)
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Strong organizational and follow up skills
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to travel as needed
