A vacancy has arisen within an established engineering function at a UK-based industrial processing facility. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a highly skilled Electrical and Instrumentation team within a regulated environment. An immediate start is available for the successful candidate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for managing the Electrical & Instrumentation department, including a team of engineers and external contractors where required.
- Lead on project work, including design, specification, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems for capital and maintenance projects, ensuring expenditure is controlled within approved budgets.
- Oversee maintenance operations, including the development and implementation of Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance systems.
- Promote and maintain a strong Safety, Health & Environmental culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and internal procedures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across the organisation, as well as external suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Instrumentation & Control; a degree is desirable.
- At least 10 years’ post-qualification experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within an instrumentation & control environment.
- Strong expertise in PLC/HMI programming (experience with platforms such as RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View is advantageous).
- Good understanding of hazardous area classifications and relevant safety standards.
- Experience with functional safety in an industrial/process plant setting.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and adapt to changing operational priorities.
- Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Competent in standard engineering and office software (e.g. AutoCAD, Microsoft Office).
Package:
- Competitive salary (negotiable, up to £75,000 per annum)
