We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join our ConstructIT team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in transport planning and experience supporting clients within the building and construction industry.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of a dedicated fleet, ensuring exceptional service delivery, maximum vehicle utilisation, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised, and have excellent communication skills when working with drivers, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Efficiently plan and route vehicles to maximise productivity and profitability
- Coordinate and manage a dedicated section of the fleet
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and subcontractors
- Process jobs accurately using transport management systems
- Prepare and provide customer quotations
- Support drivers with job information and resolve operational issues
- Ensure compliance with driver hours and working time regulations
- Maintain vehicle compliance in line with legislation and company standards
- Optimise vehicle allocation and fleet rotation to improve efficiency
- Schedule inspections, servicing, and repairs as required
- Monitor service levels, vehicle utilisation, and customer satisfaction targets
