IRS Group are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of a growing logistics and distribution operation preparing to launch a new site at Magna Park, Lutterworth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing logistics business during a major expansion phase and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day transport operation from the early stages of the site launch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transport movements, supporting operational planning, communicating with drivers and internal teams, and helping ensure a smooth and efficient transport operation across multiple shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport activity
- Support efficient route and workload planning
- Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams and management daily
- React quickly to operational changes and challenges
- Monitor transport performance and service levels
- Ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently
- Support operational KPI performance and customer service standards
- Maintain accurate transport and operational records
- Work closely with warehouse operations and senior management teams
- Assist with continuous improvement across transport operations
Requirements:
- Previous experience within transport planning or logistics coordination
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work within a fast-paced logistics environment
- Good geographical knowledge advantageous
- Ability to prioritise workloads and react to changing operational demands
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office systems
- Experience within distribution, logistics or warehouse operations preferred
