IRS are recruiting for a leading manufacturer of wooden framework for the housing industry, known for quality craftsmanship and efficient production. As the operations grow, we are looking for an experienced Logistics Team Leader to join our warehouse team and help drive the logistics and dispatch processes forward.
As the Logistics Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the daily activities of the logistics team within a busy manufacturing warehouse. You will ensure efficient movement of materials, accurate order dispatch, and effective team performance. Your leadership will directly contribute to keeping production and delivery on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate a small team within the logistics and dispatch department
- Ensure safe and timely movement of raw materials and finished products
- Operate forklift trucks (FLT) to move materials around the site
- Oversee goods-in and goods-out processes, including quality and accuracy checks
- Liaise with production and management to ensure logistics aligns with production needs
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory records
- Enforce health & safety regulations and promote safe working practices
- Train and mentor new or less experienced team members
- Previous experience in a similar warehouse/logistics supervisory or team leader role
- Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) licence
- Good understanding of warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
