We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician for a warehouse facility based outside Coventry.

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and performance of all warehouse equipment, machinery, and facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency by carrying out planned maintenance, resolving faults, and supporting a safe working environment. The role requires strong technical awareness, good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks while working in line with Health & Safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

Formal mechanical or electrical qualifications are desirable; however, candidates with relevant hands‑on maintenance experience will also be considered.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Warehouse Manager. Functional support relationship with Head Office Facilities Management and specialist external contractors.

Communication & Meetings

The role includes participation in weekly maintenance meetings to review equipment performance, maintenance issues, and ongoing improvement plans. Effective communication with operational teams and contractors is essential to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain warehouse machinery, equipment, and facilities
  • Diagnose faults and minimise equipment downtime through effective repairs
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, electrical safety, and fire prevention procedures
  • Assist with maintenance planning, spare parts management, and procurement
  • Conduct technical fault analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Liaise with external contractors, engineers, and service providers where required
  • Report technical issues, damages, and operational risks promptly
  • Support the safe and correct use of machinery across the site

Equipment & Facility Checks

Daily and routine checks will include equipment such as:

  • Compressors
  • Loading bay doors and ramps
  • Forklift trucks and charging bays
  • Balers and warehouse machinery
  • Racking and safety barriers
  • Fire exits and extinguishers
  • Lighting, air conditioning, roofing, and general building infrastructure

All issues identified must be documented, with corrective actions put in place to minimise operational disruption. As the business develops, the role may expand to include wider facilities responsibilities, project support, contractor management, and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives. A flexible attitude and willingness to develop technical skills will be important for long‑term success in the role.
