As a Virtual Production Producer in our London studio, you’ll be the architect of groundbreaking projects, bridging the gap between imagination and reality.
Position Summary
The Virtual Production Producer bids, schedules and crews Virtual Production projects across ILM’s portfolio of shows. In partnership with key production, creative and technology leadership, this role creates and executes ILM and the client’s vision for Virtual Production in concert with the operations teams running and maintaining ILM’s Volumes, as needed. This role is fluent in the latest ILM Virtual Production workflows as well as the latest industry and vendor offerings, and helps guide clients through methodology discussions, both related to on-set and VFX aspects that may be required.
What You’ll Do:
- Partners with the Executive Producer, Virtual Production to represent Virtual Production to our internal and external client base.
- Connects to market our Virtual Production and stage related services worldwide.
- Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships, ensuring our clients are aware of developments in our technology and services.
- Seeks out new clients. Exploring potential new markets for our services and advising the business of new opportunities (beyond our traditional markets of film and television) and how best to exploit them.
- Working closely with the Executive Producer, Virtual Production, to manage the budget for the Virtual Production.
- Meet with clients regarding specific projects.
- Provide clients with estimates of budget and schedule requirements needed to complete the work.
- Prepare bid letter, key dates schedule and assumptions for the work of a specific project(s).
- During production, serve as principal client contact on UK based projects for non-creative/technical issues, tracking and reporting progress of work, budgeting and negotiating cost of work and delivering cost/schedule changes to ensure client is updated as needed.
- Create, organise and maintain overall project schedules.
- Supervise assigned production staff.
- Initiate cost controls for each production. Work with production accountants to provide management with early, consistent and accurate EFC reporting.
- Participate and oversee work at the Townsend stage and on set, as required.
- Establishes and implements ILMs best practices across ILM London’s portfolio.
- Liaises with facilities to ensure the smooth operation of the Townsend stage and applies best practices globally as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Proven experience in production management to include strong working knowledge of Visual Effects techniques and terminology.
- Proficiency in Macs/PCs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite.
- Must possess inclusive organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while meeting deadlines.
- The role will likely require weekend work, as outlined by show schedules.
The role may also require:
- Travel for client meetings and/or plate shoot.
- Work on the same schedule as first or second unit production.
