Field & Events Marketing Manager in Glasgow

Glasgow Full-Time On-site
I

At IES, we value People, Purpose and Innovation. We offer a flexible and supportive working environment and the opportunity to work with a team of friendly, interesting and diverse people from across the globe who are passionate about what we do.

For 30+ years, we have built a solid reputation as the leading global innovator in integrated performance-based analysis and are now home to the most advanced building-physics analytics team in the world. Our software solutions and expert consultancy services empower designers, engineers, building owners and operators to deliver more efficient, comfortable and sustainable buildings through design, retrofit and operation. Our Research & Innovation team ensures our technology remains best-in-class and at the forefront of innovation.

About the role

We're building a modern, measurable acquisition marketing engine at IES, and events are a core demand channel within it. We're looking for a Field & Events Marketing Manager to own our events programme end to end: both the industry expos and conferences we attend and a growing programme of owned events.

This is a step up from a traditional events role. We don't want events run as logistics with no line of sight to results. Every event you run will have clear objectives, a lead-capture plan, structured follow-up, and reporting on its contribution to pipeline. You'll be the person who turns our events from a cost line into a measurable source of qualified opportunities.

As the programme maturing, there's a clear path to own events as a strategic pillar of the acquisition strategy; shaping which events we run, designing the owned-events programme, and tying it into our account-based and wider campaign activity.

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end events calendar (expos, conferences and owned events) from planning through delivery to follow-up and reporting.
  • Set clear objectives, target audiences and success metrics for every event before it runs, and report on outcomes afterwards.
  • Build and run owned events that deepen relationships with target accounts and generate quality pipeline.
  • Own lead capture and handover for every event, working with RevOps to ensure leads are tracked, tagged and passed to sales within the agreed SLA.
  • Report on event performance and ROI (leads, meetings, pipeline contribution and cost per outcome) feeding results into the wider marketing dashboard.
  • Manage event logistics end to end: venues, suppliers, stands, budgets, collateral, and on-the-day delivery.
  • Collaborate across the team; with digital for event promotion, with content for event assets and messaging, and with sales and the Lead Generation Executive on target-account invitations and follow-ups.
  • Manage event budgets, track spend against outcomes, and continually improve the mix based on what delivers.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrable experience running owned events not only expos and trade shows.
  • Data-literate and outcome-focused: a track record of setting objectives, capturing leads, and measuring and reporting on event ROI and pipeline contribution.
  • Solid experience in B2B field or events marketing, ideally in a considered, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the commercial mindset to prioritise events that drive pipeline.
  • A collaborative, self-starting approach.

Why Join Us

  • Join a global climate-tech leader making a real sustainability impact.
  • Be part of an ambitious, fast-moving marketing team.
  • Shape and grow a strategic events programme with measurable business impact.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

IES is committed to an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from all backgrounds, even if you donโ€™t meet every requirement listed. We can provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, for example, sharing interview questions in advance, allowing breaks between stages, or offering extra time where needed.
