IEIS (Industrial Engineering and Installation Services) is an established engineering consultancy based in Stone, Staffordshire, delivering electrical design services across industrial and infrastructure sectors. The team specialises in high-quality engineering documentation, from SLDs and instrumentation drawings through to full BIM‑coordinated models. They work on projects that require genuine technical depth, and the people here know their trade.

The role

As Electrical Design Engineer, you'll produce a broad range of electrical design deliverables, from detailed CAD drawings and schematics through to 3D BIM models. You'll work across multiple disciplines, collaborating with mechanical and process teams and contributing to federated model development. The role sits at the centre of live project delivery.

  • Produce electrical CAD drawings including SLDs, schematics, cable and load schedules, and termination drawings
  • Design earthing and bonding layouts, MCC interfaces, and power distribution systems
  • Develop 3D electrical models covering cable routes, containment, MCC layouts, and instrument locations
  • Maintain drawing registers and manage revision control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all outputs comply with client standards, IEC/BS standards, and IEIS internal drafting standards
  • Participate in clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination meetings
  • Support federated BIM model development alongside mechanical and process disciplines

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience producing electrical design drawings in a similar engineering environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
  • Solid understanding of IEC/BS electrical standards
  • Experience with BIM and 3D modelling (Revit, Plant3D, or equivalent)

Useful, not essential

  • Experience with EPLAN
  • Previous work on industrial or infrastructure projects

Financial: Salary up to £50,000, commensurate with experience.
