A specialist engineering business based at Stone Business Park in Staffordshire, supporting large-scale industrial and construction projects across the UK. The business is growing, the team is close-knit, and the work is genuinely varied.

This isn’t a quiet stores job. Tools and equipment go out to live project sites, lifting gear needs checking and maintaining to standard, and the person in this role plays a central part in keeping everything running. You’ll report directly to the Stores Manager and work as part of a small, no-fuss team that takes pride in doing things properly.

You’ll:

  • Issue, receive, and control tools, consumables, PPE, and lifting equipment
  • Inspect equipment before issue and on return, identifying damage or faults
  • Carry out basic electrical repairs: cable replacements, plug rewiring, basic fault finding
  • Support PAT testing, including occasional site visits in a company vehicle
  • Operate a counterbalance forklift for loading, unloading, and stock movement
  • Organise and package site shipments of tools and materials
  • Maintain stock records and log assets and consumables on the system
  • Keep the stores clean, organised, and correctly maintained

What you’ll bring:

Essential:

  • Proven hands-on experience with industrial or construction tools and equipment
  • Practical knowledge of lifting gear: slings, shackles, and chain blocks etc
  • Ability to safely change plugs, replace cables, and carry out basic electrical fault finding
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable with basic computer use for data entry and asset logging

Useful, not essential:

  • PAT testing certificate (training provided if not held)
  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence (refresher available if expired)
  • Previous stores or engineering workshop background

What's on offer:

  • Financial: £27,000–30,000 depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm. No weekend working
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Development: PAT testing training and forklift refresher available. Natural progression as the business grows
  • Travel: Occasional site visits across the UK using a company vehicle
  • Stability: Stable PAYE employment within a well-established and growing engineering business

How to apply:

Send us a CV or drop us a message and we’ll come back to you within one working day. If you’ve got the practical background but your forklift licence has lapsed, don’t let that put you off.
